MONTREAL CHRISTMAS WEBCAST

Postby andykim_admin » December 12th, 2014, 6:43 am

Excited to be traveling to Montreal on VIA RAIL today to do my 1st ever Andy Kim Christmas in Montreal.
Tune in to see if we can actually pull off a webcast from the ViaRail train as we are rolling down the tracks... at 1p we light up the live.andykimmusic.com web page with the player from our friends at OrchardTV and will be doing a live 10 minute hit at 1p, 2p, 3p, 4p... This could be a first. I have no idea. Google it I guess?

You look and sound wonderful, Andy. Thank you for doing this, and also a big thank-you to all of those who made it possible. I'm in awe of the technology that makes something like this happen. Watching you live from Canada on a moving train is an amazing experience. (I love trains but haven't been on one in many years, so I'm enjoying the experience vicariously.) :)

Also love watching the scenery go by outside the window. Welcome to the Polar Express! :D

Laura, I'm with you. Pretty fascinating. I said I'd like to be a fly on the wall and this is the next best thing. :D

We rode the train a lot when I was a kid, going to my granny's house and back. I loved it. Such a relaxing way to travel.

Hey Fran,

Probably the last time I was on a train was when my mom and I used to go to Manhattan to meet a friend of hers for lunch (this was when I lived in New Jersey) and we would take the bus into the city, then the subway to our destination. I'm not even going to disclose how long ago that was but the trains probably ran on steam (LOL!)! I don't think I've been on a train since then. Would love to take an Amtrak ride one of these days.

It's more than likely no coincidence that my all-time favorite movie is The Beatles' 'A Hard Day's Night.' The opening scenes were filmed at an actual train station (with actual fans chasing after the group members) and on a real, moving train. This was 50 years ago and how they pulled that off still amazes me.

Anyway, I'm enjoying Andy's Polar Express webcast a great deal. :D

Hey Laura,

If your train ran on steam, mine was probably pulled by horses. Ours was a sixty-mile trip. So much fun and I got to see my granny at the other end.

A few years ago, a friend of mine took Amtrak from Houston, across to Florida and up the coast to Virginia. They had a ball and had made a whole bunch of new friends by the time they got there. My kids on the coast want me to visit and I don't want to fly.....a train sounds like a plan to me. ;)

Back to the train.....just a few minutes till the last installment. Did you notice how much more snow there is, the farther north they go? Neat!

Yes, it is neat. (Hey, the train just stopped!) I haven't seen snow "in person" in more than 20 years, since moving to Florida.

Loving this Andy Kim Travelogue! (Is that the right word?)

Looks right to me, Laura.

Great finale. Singing Sugar, Sugar while show was flying by the windows.

So glad I got to see this. Thanks for letting us know, Music Man. 8-)

Fran, were you singing along with "Sugar, Sugar" too? :)

Thanks so much for doing this, Andy. Now have fun and break a leg at your show tomorrow night!
