"Just wanted to invite all the fans to come watch me and an all-star band perform on Canada AM on Monday Oct. 22 as I help Canada AM celebrate 40 years. If you would like to be a part of our studio audience email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know how many seats you would like along with the names of the people in your party for the security list."
That's wonderful news for Andy's Canadian fans—and I sure hope a video is put online for those of us who can't be there in person!
Very cool! Thanks for posting the link, Jill. I'm so accustomed to Facebook that I was looking for the "Like" link below your post!
Isn't modern technology amazing? Thanks to the Internet and the advances made just during the past decade alone, it's now possible for a performance to air on television and then, literally only minutes later, people thousands of miles away can watch a video of it. And not just "a" video, but a large, high-definition video. Just a few years ago, it would've been impossible for me to view a video like this on my computer. Even after I switched from dial-up to high-speed Internet, my computer at the time was too slow to properly stream videos; many times the picture would just freeze while the audio played on, and I was lucky to even be able to hear the audio properly! It used to frustrate the heck out of me. Now, I can click on a link and watch Andy's performance as easily as if I were sitting in front of my TV, watching it live. I LOVE the Internet!
Thanks for a wonderful show, Andy. As usual, you look and sound terrific.
Haha Laura I know what you mean about the like button. I frequently look for it on Twitter too lol. Like you say it is amazing how we can watch all this stuff either live as it happens or within a few minutes of it happening. Love Jill xx
For those who would like to see it, here is the link for the half-hour segment in which Andy appeared. (He isn't on the entire segment, just the last eight and a half minutes or so, but he is mentioned during the course of the half hour and there's some footage at the end that was left out of the performance video.) http://canadaam.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId ... d=1.815908
The half-hour starts off with a brief clip of Andy singing "Baby, I Love You" as his forthcoming appearance is announced.
Listen for an AK mention at approximately 4:30.
And check out the funny weather blooper at approximately 5:54!
At 12:49, just before the break, there's another brief clip of Andy singing "Be My Baby" - then Andy's performances. Following the performances, Andy is shown with the band and hosts; and he mentions his Christmas show.
Enjoy, Laura P.S. The above link should go directly to the segment, but if it goes haywire for some reason, just look for 8:30 AM, October 22.
